I am a big believer and supporter of the Des Moines Public Library but even I learned something new at today’s Friday Finds. Today’s episode is at the downtown library, showcasing two exciting new programs they offer, Library of Things and Tech Central!
Although the library has always been a hub for books and movies, these innovative programs offer even more valuable benefits to members for absolutely no cost. The Library of Things program provides access to an extensive range of items, from board games to metal detectors, radon detectors, tools, sewing machines, and more. You name it, they probably have it! This program presents an incredible opportunity to save money while also promoting environmental sustainability, by borrowing items you may only need once or trying out something you’re unsure about.
Tech Central at the downtown location is a game-changer. Here, you can learn to use the latest cutting-edge technology, start your own podcast, transfer home movies from VHS to a digital format, get your craftiness started by using their Cricut or access subscriptions to Adobe suite programs to create digital projects. The possibilities are endless, and all these resources are available at your fingertips.
