Today’s Friday Finds highlights one of my favorite local non-profits, the Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity. Did you know that our local Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has two home improvement stores? The Greater Des Moines ReStores are a hidden gem full of home goods, appliances, tools, windows, doors, rugs, and so much more! You name it, they more than likely have it! Each location is a treasure trove of items that will spark your desire to improve or decorate your home. The ReStore’s inventory comes through a variety of donors whether that be brand new windows or appliances from manufacturers or a donated cabinet set from a local’s home renovation, there are tons of wonderful items all at an accessible price point.
During our visit there were tons of home goods from highly desirable name brands that were just a fraction of their traditional cost. I found a West Elm duvet, current Christmas napkins and picture frames from Pottery Barn! My favorite part about shopping at the ReStore has to be that with each purchase you’re giving back. All proceeds from the ReStore supports Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope.
